Carlisle Therapies is Carlisle's premium holistic health and wellbeing centre.  It was established by Ruth Irving in 2012 as a base for her thriving acupuncture clinic.  The centre consists of four bespoke consultation rooms for rent to professional complementary and alternative health professionals as well as other room users.

The centre is conveniently located in the heart of Carlisle city at 34 Lowther Street, CA3 8DH. It is just a stone's throw from Carlisle bus station, a few minutes’ walk from Carlisle train station and near main car parking sites.

Since 2012 Ruth has steadily built a team of experienced, professional and dedicated natural health care practitioners offering a broad range of complementary and alternative therapies. Some live locally, many travel to Carlisle Therapies to hold their weekly or monthly classes and/or workshops. All are self-employed and dedicated to promoting natural, healthy-living choices and mind-body medicine.

People come to Carlisle Therapies for many reasons:

• to unwind and relax – enjoy a massage, practice yoga and mindfulness
• to relieve muscular aches and pains – acupuncture, massage
• for help stopping smoking - detox ear acupuncture
• to join a regular yoga class (since Covid-19 all group classes have relocated to The Yoga Rooms, 8 Chatsworth Square)

Whatever the reason, people enjoy visiting the centre. Often people come for a treatment and join a regular class – or vice versa. Our consultation rooms are tranquil, safe and have ample natural light.

If you’re interested in joining our team or running a class, course, talk or workshop from the centre please contact us on This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
