At Carlisle Therapies we believe that yoga can not only help restore your flexibility and strength but that it also has the power to heal.  Our yoga classes are limited in size to just 7 students maximum ensuring that each student gets plenty of personal feedback and the modifications necessary to participate as fully as your body allows in the class.

The majority of our weekly classes are suitable for Beginners as you progress at your own level.  We run a rolling programme of weekly classes in 5 week blocks, which you pre-book.

The types of classes we run are varied and include:

Absolute Beginners Yoga 10 week Programme: Take your first steps onto your yoga mat.  Our 10 week Absolute Beginners Yoga Programme is just that - only students new to yoga will be in the class, meaning you will all be starting from scratch.During this 10 week programme you will explore all aspects of yoga.  Yoga is not simply stretching,  it is underpinned by a rich philosophical heritage.  This programme will introduce you to the all aspects of yoga.Your class will be limited in size to just 8 people maximum.  This means that you will receive plenty of personal guidance and feedback.

Core Strength Yoga: Strengthening your core may help support your back.  Many movements that our body makes either begin or pass through our core.

Gentle Hatha: has a relaxing slow pace with a mindful meditative approach to opening the body with softness and self-care, and is structured around rejuvenating and healing the body. The serenity of breath-directed movement is combined with the strength of held postures.   Gentle yoga focuses on stretching all areas of the body whilst releasing stress and tension, bringing you physical, mental and emotional harmony. This class is great for all levels, whether you are a novice or experienced yogi/yogini, it will leave you feeling nurtured and nourished.

Beginners Yoga: is suitable for yoga beginners as well as those with a yoga practice. You will be guided through all areas of movement in the body, synchronising them to the breath so you can flow freely throughout your yoga flow.  An energising yet grounding class to unify the body, mind and breath.  These classes end with a yoga nidra relaxation where you can truly receive the benefits of your yoga practice.  (see Class Timetable for times)

Dynamic Vinyasa: is a powerful yet relaxed class filled with dynamic moving meditation with softness, strength, stability and stillness.  This class is more dynamic than our Beginners classes and ideal for those with a regular yoga practice. Intermediate only.

Yoga for Menopause: This yoga class is designed specifically for women approaching (peri-), in or over their menopausal life transition. Women experience emotional and physical fluctuations throughout their lives as part of their natural aging process. Yoga may help regulate hormones & other changes as the body shifts from one life stage to the next. This yoga class includes breathing techniques and peaceful guided relaxation. Suitable for beginners to yoga as well as those with a regular yoga practice.

Pregnancy Yoga: suitable from 14 weeks. During pregnancy, yoga can play a key role in enhancing the experience of this precious time and empowering the mother-to-be to have the most conscious birth experience. It is an ideal way to support your body, mind and well-being, offering you the opportunity to connect with your baby

Yoga Nidra Relaxation Yoga: also known as yogic sleep during this class you will be guided into a state of deep relaxation.
